Former Livingston defender pens two year deal with Motherwell

Former Livingston defender Ricki Lamie has signed for Motherwell.

The 26-year-old from Harthill joins the Steelmen after two seasons at the Tony Macaroni Arena and will team up with former Livi team-mate Declan Gallagher at Fir Park.

The left-sided defender started his professional career at Airdrie before establishing himself in the Championship with Greenock Morton.

His impressive displays at that level saw him make the move to the top fight in 2018. He played 60 times for the Lions, netting on four occasions. However, he had been a bit-part player since the turn of the year, appearing just four times since the start of January.

The signing of Efe Ambrose then pushed Lamie, who has penned a two-year deal with the 'Well, further down the pecking order.

He has signed a two-year deal with Stephen Robinson's men.

Speaking to Motherwell's official website, he said: "I'm really looking forward to geting started and being part of the continued success of the club. on and off the pitch.

"It will be a bit strange coming in to a new club, given the present circumstances, but I'm excited at being able to meet up with the boys in training soon."
