Former Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko announced his retirement from football yesterday - and many of his teammates have taken to Twitter to send their congratulations.
The Mali midfielder played 87 times for the Reds, scoring once.
He was a part of the team that won the UEFA Super Cup in 2005 after the Reds' Istanbul triumph, and also won the FA Cup in 2006.
Upon his retirement, Sissoko told the Footissime show on RMC Sport 1 : "If I am here this evening, it is to tell you that it is the end for me, I stop my career.
"It is a really complicated choice, difficult to accept. It is a really difficult decision to make, because I have always been involved in football, it is my life."
After he left Anfield, the cult hero spoke many times of wanting to return to England again and has spoken frequently about how much he enjoyed his time on Merseyside .
After hanging up his boots, the midfielder was congratulated on his career by several teammates, including Luis Garcia and Djibril Cisse.
Cisse also added to Garcia's tweet, saying: "What a picture hermano."
Having been signed from Valencia, Sissoko played for the Reds between 2005 and 2007 under the management of Rafa Benitez.
As well as representing Liverpool, Sissoko appeared for Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Fiorentina and Levante.
He also spent time in India, China, Indonesia and Mexico.
