Former Liverpool striker set to star in new tell-all Netflix documentary

Former Liverpool striker Nicolas Anelka is set to star in a new Netflix documentary about his life.

The biopic, which will be released next year on the popular streaming service, will shed light on his football career including his time at clubs such as Real Madrid, Chelsea and Arsenal.

According to American entertainment website Variety, 'Anelka' will also discuss controversial moments of the Frenchman's past such as being banned from the 2010 World Cup.

The 40-year-old made 22 appearances scoring five goals for the Reds during a brief spell at Anfield in 2001/02.

The documentary, which is said to draw an intimate portrait of the former-pro, features testimonies from Manchester United star Paul Pogba, as well as Arsenal legends Arsene Wenger and Thierry Henry.

Anelka retired from football in 2015 having last played for Indian Super League side Mumbai City, and the ex-France international is now coaching at Ligue 1 club Lille.
