Former Liverpool striker sends Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang warning to Jurgen Klopp

Former Premier League striker Emile Heskey has said that Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would not suit Liverpool and has urged the Reds to Pursue other strikers.

The Gunners captain will have just one year left on his contract in the summer and Arsenal could decide to cash in should they not be able to convince him to sign a new deal.

Barcelona have been credited with an interest in the Gabon international, and there has even been some suggestion that Liverpool could show an interest due to Sadio Mane and Mo Salah’s participation in the African Cup of Nations next season.

However, while praising the Arsenal man, former Reds’ striker Heskey has discouraged Jurgen Klopp’s men from making a move for Aubameyang.

“Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a wonderful goal-getter,” he told GentingBet .

“His stats are amazing. He is showing time and time again that he is a goal scorer. He’s playing in an Arsenal side that isn’t really fancied in and around the league but he’s going out and scoring week in and week out.

“He’s challenging for the Golden Boot. He’s Mr Consistent.

“But, will he fit in the Liverpool system? Probably not. I don’t think that he would be an ideal fit for Liverpool.”

Aubemeyang has scored 17 goals in 26 league appearances so far this season and is just two behind Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy in the race for the Golden Boot.
