Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge posts heartwarming video after being reunited with stolen dog

Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has uploaded a heartwarming video to Instagram after being reunited with his stolen dog.

His Pomeranian Lucci was allegedly stolen from his Hollywood home on Monday night, and the striker immediately launched an appeal to find his beloved pet.

Sturridge admitted he felt "broken" that his dog had been taken and pleaded for his safe return in a series of appeals on social media.

He has since revealed that late last night he received messages to say someone in south LA had his dog and he drove down with friends at 11:30pm to get him back.

In the video Sturridge said: "Good morning everyone, waking up to good news.

"Lucci has officially been brought home.

"Myself and a few friends went to south LA last night to pick him up.

"We were told by someone in LA that they had him and they were in south LA.

"We drove down there last night, I think it was about 11:30pm.

"Absolutely delighted, can't believe it and I just want to say a big thank you to everyone on social media who supported us and raised awareness to the case about what was going on.

"I'm so thankful to all of the fans and influencers and celebrities and general people around the world."

The former England international then posted a second video shortly after announcing the good news of his dog bouncing around and playing at his home.

Following the expiration of his Liverpool contract Sturridge, who spent six years at Anfield, is currently without a club.
