Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge next destination confirmed after transfer completed

Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has completed a permanent transfer to Trabzonspor.

The 29-year-old was released by the Reds this summer as a free agent and has been linked with a whole host of clubs.

He has now signed a three-year deal with the Turkish Super Lig side and the club say they have an option to add on another year.

Sturridge joined Liverpool from Chelsea in January 2013 and his six-and-a-half year stay yielded 67 goals in 160 appearances.

It took the frontman just 87 games to reach 50 goals for the Reds – quicker than the likes of Luis Suarez , Michael Owen and Robbie Fowler, and just three games more than it took Fernando Torres to reach the half-century landmark.

However, after suffering with a series of injuries he found himself slipping out of the limelight at Anfield which ultimately led to his release.

The player's deal with Trabzonspor is reportedly worth £3m ($3.6m) per year.
