Former Liverpool star wants Man United's 'extraordinary' Paul Pogba to join him at new club PSG

Georginio Wijnaldum has stated that he would "love" to play alongside Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba at Paris Saint-Germain, calling his former Premier League rival one of the best in the world in his position.

Pogba has been the subject of intense speculation about his future in the past week, with PSG believed to be keen on making a move this summer, although it's understood that talks have not yet been initiated between the clubs.

With just one year remaining on his United contract, the Frenchman could leave the club for nothing in 2022 if he is not sold in the current transfer window.

Pogba may well follow in the footsteps of former Liverpool midfielder Wijnaldum, who moved to the Parisian outfit on a free transfer in June. The Dutchman signed a lucrative three-year deal after running down a contract offer at Anfield.

Although the pair used to be on opposite sides of an intense rivalry between their respective clubs, Wijnaldum has told French media that he wants to see Pogba play at the Parc des Princes.

“I would love to have Pogba with us,” Wijnaldum told RMC Sport. “He’s fantastic. I have played against him several times – what a player!

“If you ask any player from another team if he would like Pogba to join him, everyone will say yes because he is an extraordinary player, full of qualities. He has it all, one of the best midfielders in the world.”
