Former Liverpool star's Marcelo Bielsa admission shows Leeds United's growing global appeal

Leeds United's global appeal has never been in doubt.

However, the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa has only further catapulted the Whites onto the map.

The return of Premier League football has also increased United's visibility across the world, with supporters in every corner of each continent.

In particular, Leeds' Argentinian fan base has grown, with Bielsa lauded by his fellow countrymen for his work in Europe.

The impressive role he has performed in transforming the fortunes at Elland Road have not gone unnoticed.

That's confirmed by former Liverpool and Argentina midfielder Maxi Rodriguez, still playing at the age of 39 for Newell's Old Boys, Bielsa's first love.

The diminutive man who lit up Anfield confirmed the impact Bielsa has had in making Leeds an attractive proposition to support back in his native country.

"If it were not for Marcelo, we would not look at certain teams," Rodriguez told Sportia.

"Now we are all Leeds fans. We shout the goals and watch all the games."
