Former Liverpool star Ryan Babel mimics opponent limping and crying after foul

Ajax forward Ryan Babel had no sympathy for Allan Nyom as he copied the Getafe defender after he appeared to make the most of a tackle during Thursday's Europa League clash.

The former Liverpool star was involved in a tussle with the former West Brom defender in the second-half as he attempted to win the ball from the Cameroonian.

The challenge caused the Nyom to fall the floor and Babel was left incensed as the 31-year-old continued to roll around as the referee blew for a free-kick.

The Dutch international clearly felt that the Getafe man had overreacted and began to imitate him, initially dropping to the turf and rolling around.

The 33-year-old then began to fake crying in Nyom's face as he slowly pulled himself off the ground before limping away - another action the Ajax winger copied.

The incident ended with Babel being shown a yellow card for the tackle and he admitted his annoyance at the way his opponent reacted.

He told BT Sport after the final whistle: "I don't know if I'll ever do the same again. It happens in the heat of the moment,

"That guy [Nyom] was being very annoying. Getafe hasn't impressed me.

"Next week, at home, we'll play better and with a different refer."

Ajax have plenty of work to do during next week's reverse fixture against Getafe after Erik ten Hag's suffered a 2-0 defeat in the first leg of their round-of-32 tie in Spain.

Last season's Champions League semi-finalists fell behind in the first half when Deyverson found the net with a powerful, first-time finish from Mathias Olivera's low cross.

The Spanish club - currently third in La Liga - then doubled their lead in the final moments of the match through on-loan Chelsea forward Kenedy to take control of the tie.
