Former Liverpool star Peter Crouch announces new job announced after retirement from football

Peter Crouch's future beyond professional football has been confirmed after the former England star retired last month.

BT Sport have now revealed that the ex-striker will join the broadcasting company as a pundit from the 2019/20 season onwards.

Crouch has already delved into that side of the football industry with a successful podcast on the BBC but will now take on bigger responsibilities as a permanent pundit on BT.

The 38-year-old began his career way back in 1998 at Tottenham but was also at Brentford and QPR during his youth career.

He would be loaned out to Dulwich Hamlet and Swedish outfit IFK Hassleholm before rejoining QPR in 2000.

A stint at Portsmouth followed and two years at Aston Villa, one of which saw him loaned out to Norwich City.

By 2004, Crouch was at Southampton and starring in the Premier League .

Liverpool came calling in 2005 and his form for the Reds saw him start his five-year long career with the England national team.

The forward enjoyed a successful time at Anfield, helping the Reds to the FA Cup win in 2006 and is still fondly remembered by supporters on the Kop.

Crouch left Liverpool for Portsmouth in 2008 before joining Spurs again a year later.

He then enjoyed a remarkably long eight-year stint at Stoke City to all-but finish off his career.

A brief stint at Burnley in the Premier League saw him bow out of professional football in May.
