Former Liverpool star Emre Can sends Jadon Sancho transfer message amid Man United interest

Former Liverpool star Emre Can has issued a message over Jadon Sancho’s future amid recent transfer speculation.

The Reds have been tentatively linked with the Borussia Dortmund forward in recent months, but the likelihood of a deal being done this summer is very unlikely.

Manchester United are the club who looked the most likely to complete the signing of the England international, but Dortmund have remained resolute with their asking price.

The 20-year-old is thought to be valued around £108m by the Bundesliga club, with United entering talks to strike a deal with Dortmund over the past few weeks.

Dortmund chief Michael Zorc recently addressed Sancho’s future, and categorically ruled out any chance of his departure this summer.

Now Can, who left Liverpool in 2018, has expressed his delight at Sancho remaining at Signal Iduna Park.

"I'm personally very happy that Jadon is staying," said Can, as reported by  Ruhr Nachrichten.

"For me he is already a world class player. He's very, very important to the team.

"I hope he will continue to score many goals and help us as a team to win as many games as possible."
