Former Liverpool star Daniel Agger slams VAR after Wolves controversies

Former Liverpool star defender Daniel Agger has offered a strong verdict on the VAR issues currently plaguing the Premier League.

Liverpool 's 1-0 win over Wolves this evening was the latest game to be struck by VAR controversy as it benefited the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp's side made it 18 wins from 19 games this season thanks to Sadio Mane 's goal.

Mane's goal was then looked at for a potential handball by Adam Lallana but also due to a potential issue on whether the referee had blown his whistle before the ball found the back of the net.

The other VAR issue was the big talking point post-match as Pedro Neto's effort was ruled out due to a marginal offside in the build-up.

It has left Liverpool great Jamie Carragher and Match of the Day pundit Gary Lineker criticising the VAR process on offsides.

Agger has now provided his thoughts with a strong statement on Twitter accompanied with a picture of him almost taking off the head of former Manchester United and Holland star Robin van Persie.

"I have been fortunate enough to play the lovely game of football without VAR," Agger tweeted. "What it has become after is in my opinion a disaster. (Even though it helped my team today) Just play the f...... game!"
