Former Liverpool player Neil Ruddock shares eyebrow-raising admission after huge weight loss

Former Liverpool star Neil Ruddock says he has "reset" and is plotting a late career change following his amazing transformation.

He has lost a total of seven stone, after revealing he was 'getting bigger and bigger' with his weight reaching a high of 27 stone. In 2020, the ex-Red admitted that his heart stopped beating during surgery have a pacemaker fitted.

But it wasn't the operation that sparked the tide of change as during lockdown he was stuck on the 'Deliveroo diet, getting lazier and lazier'. He did take action last year when he had gastric sleeve surgery and he posted a positive message at the beginning of the month.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote: "After years of struggling with my weight, I decided it was finally time to take action. Last year I had gastric sleeve surgery with @WeAreTransform_ & I’m well into my weight loss journey, to date I've lost 93lbs.

"This is a fresh start & I’m excited about this new chapter."

The change prompted an outpouring of support from Ruddock's former players both domestically and internationally with Liverpool legend, Robbie Fowler also paying respects.

In an interview with the Daily Star, the League Cup winner with Liverpool revealed he has had a "reset" in life - and in the bedroom.

He said: "How could my sex life get any better? I can see the end of it (my penis) now!

"I’m ‘Reset Razor’ now. I could see myself as a high-end wellness coach. I’ve got the experience of the health, the football, the training and now the surgery – it’s a lot."
