Former Liverpool man makes bold Kai Havertz claim amid Chelsea transfer links

Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz would improve any side in the Premier League.

The 20-year-old is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young players in European football and has attracted a wealth of transfer interest.

Chelsea and Manchester United have both been linked in recent months, while Bayern Munich are believed to be leading the chase for the youngster.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal have also emerged recently as sides with an interest in the Leverkusen star, who netted 17 times and claimed three assists last season.

And Hamman believes that apart Liverpool, given the way they set-up under Jurgen Klopp, the Germany international would improve any side in England’s top-flight.

“I think a lot of Premier League clubs will be interested in him, he's a terrific player and there's not many better around at the moment,” he told The Football Show on Sky Sports on Monday morning.

"If you look at Manchester United, it's very clear they need new personnel going forward, and I think he'd improve pretty much every team.

“Liverpool are a bit different with the way they set-up and play, but besides that I think he improves every team.

"Before the break people were talking about three figures, a hundred-odd million, if that's a price any club is prepared to pay in the summer, I'm not sure, but the likelihood is he will leave Leverkusen and take on another challenge in the summer."
