When Liverpool face Shrewsbury Town on Sunday afternoon in their FA Cup fourth round tie, there will be a number of interesting side-plots to the match.
The League One side, who currently sit in 16th place in their division, have a number of players with links to Merseyside - via both Anfield and Goodison Park.
For the Behind Enemy Lines podcast, the ECHO's Paul Wheelock spoke to Lewis Cox of the Shropshire Star to get the inside view on the Reds' opponents. As part of that discussion, a number of players with Liverpool and Everton links came up in conversation.
Cox, a Shrewsbury reporter, who is a Liverpool fan himself, said: "Certainly two [Shrewsbury players are Liverpool fans].
"Actually, one you may not realise which hasn't really been brought up that much - mainly because he didn't really want to talk about it in the build-up - is the manager [Sam Ricketts] as well.
"He was not an ardent Red, he was from more down south, but with a passing interest in the great Liverpool sides. He had a couple of trips to Anfield and he told me he loved John Barnes, so there's another link there.
"Reds in the side: the one I would mention first is Shaun Whalley. Very highly regarded; he's their longest serving player. A winger by trade and for a 32-year-old now, he can really shift.
"There's young Sam Hart who is a left-sided defender. He checked in on loan only last week. They took him on loan from Blackburn. Blackburn is where Sam moved to from Liverpool having come through the Academy.
"He's quite pally with Trent [Alexander-Arnold] still. He hasn't featured for Town yet but he could make his debut against his former club. He didn't feature competitively for the Liverpool first team but Klopp did give him his debut in a friendly against Mainz when he was about 16."
Having dispatched Everton in the previous round of the FA Cup, Liverpool will face the Blues again of sorts as their fourth round tie takes place against Shrewsbury on Sunday afternoon.
Forward Callum Lang is a lifelong Evertonian, and was indeed at Anfield a few weeks ago for the previous round.
He told The Telegraph: "My girlfriend, Poppy, and all her family are Liverpool and they had a spare ticket in the Main Stand there. I had my head in my hands for the last 10 minutes.
"When I wasn’t arguing with her. By the end, my head was gone. I am still not over it. I wish I had just said no and stayed at home and watched it on the telly."
Lang netted the winner when Wigan won at Fulham in last season’s FA Cup. After that game, he revealed that Reds man Alexander-Arnold sent him a message of congratulations.
Lang added: "[It] is nice when you see someone like that messaging you. You think: I must be doing something right.
"Then when he was flying I dropped him a little message back. I’m not sure he saw it. Obviously he gets a few more than me!"
