A contestant on The Chase prompted retired footballer John Arne Riise to begin trending on Twitter due to his resemblance to the left-back.
Chris from Chester went on the daytime quiz show, which aired on Thursday, and people could not resist pointing out the likeness.
This led to John Arne Riise being third in the UK trending list.
Plenty made the joke that the “Liverpool millions have dried up” for the footballer as they joked it was actually him on the programme.
Others questioned why the former Norway defender was not on the celebrity version of the programme.
Chris from Chester did not make it through to the final round but said he had a “great day” on the programme.
While presenter Bradley Walsh told him he was going to be a “hero” when he returned to work.
John Arne Riise even shared a post about the likeness himself with a laughing emoji.
The 38-year-old played for Monaco, Liverpool, Roma and Fulham in his career and was capped internationally 110 times.
