Former Liverpool head teacher accused of downloading child abuse images

A former head teacher appeared before magistrates today charged with possessing and making indecent photographs of children.

Robert Pearson, 68, of Promenade, Southport , faces three charges of making indecent photographs of a child, and one of possessing an indecent photograph, on or before September 26, 2018.

He is also charged with breaching a risk of sexual harm order, between August 31, 2014 and September 27, 2018.

Silver-haired Pearson, who wore a dark suit, tie and carried a briefcase, appeared briefly at Bootle magistrates' court to confirm only his name, address and date of birth.

No plea was entered and he was remanded on unconditional bail to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on October 16.

Pearson was a former acting head of Campion Catholic High School in Everton , which closed in 2007.
