Former Liverpool FC star José Enrique shares baby news after beating brain tumour

Former Reds star José Enrique and his wife Amy Jaine have announced they're expecting a baby.

The 36-year-old made his Liverpool debut in August 2011, before spending almost five years with the club.

Despite leaving in 2016, the former Reds' defender still has a strong connection to LFC - and is held in high regard by many fans.

The ex left-back was diagnosed with a rare chordoma behind his left eye in May 2018.

Following eight hours of surgery to remove the growth, as well as a year of extensive treatments including Intensive Care and two months proton therapy in Paris, José was given the all clear in 2019.

José joined Real Zaragoza in 2016, before announcing his retirement in 2017.

On Tuesday, he shared his family is "growing".

Sharing a photo of he and Amy with a picture of a baby scan on Instagram, he said: "We have some news..

"Our family is growing! we can’t wait to meet you baby"

Former pro Adebayo Akinfenwa quickly commented: "Congrats congrats congrats", while Brian Olivan said: "Felicidades pareja!" (Congratulations couple)

Many fans also rushed to send well wishes.
