Former Liverpool coach copies Jurgen Klopp celebration after Blackpool win

Blackpool manager Neil Critchley celebrated his side’s 2-0 win over Preston in a manner very similar to Jurgen Klopp.

After seeing his side go level on points with fifth placed Luton Town in the Championship table, the Seasiders boss approached home fans after the final whistle and fist pumped three times as Klopp often does.

Critchley, left his role as Liverpool Under 23s boss in March of last year to take over at Blackpool, and led them to promotion from League One via the play-offs last season.

He famously stood in for Klopp in the 2019/20 season due to fixture congestion as the Reds first team were away in Qatar participating in the FIFA Club World Cup.

However, they were also due to face Aston Villa in the quarter finals of the EFL Cup at Villa Park.

Critchley took charge of a team exclusively made up of the club's under-23s, but they were beaten 5-0 by an experienced Villa side.

The 43-year-old deputised for Klopp once again in an FA Cup fourth round replay against Shrewsbury Town, as the first team were on a mid-season break.

A youthful Reds side including Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot won 1-0 at Anfield courtesy of a Roshaun Williams own goal.
