Former Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry is on the panel which is considering whether Manchester City should be banned from the Champions League for breaking UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules.
The 64-year-old, who served as the Reds' CEO from 1998 to 2009, is one of eight members on UEFA's independent club financial control body.

They have been investigating the serious allegations made against City which were published by German newspaper Der Spiegel after a series of leaks last year.
City stand accused of falsely overstating the amount of money coming into the club from sponsors based in Abu Dhabi with the financial control body understood to be pushing for a one-season ban.
Yves Leterme, the former Belgian prime minister, who is chairman of the panel, is set to make a recommendation this week about a suitable punishment. UEFA's adjudicatory chamber will then decide on any sanction in the coming weeks.
City, who escaped with a fine of £17million in 2014 for a previous breach of the regulations, claim the allegations are “entirely false” and insist they have provided “comprehensive proof” that they haven't broken the rules.
