Former Leicester star Pontus Kamark insists Foxes can outplay Chelsea to win FA Cup

Former Leicester League Cup winner Pontus Kamark once man-marked Juninho at Wembley but reckons his old side can outplay Chelsea and have no need for cynical tactics.

Kamark was part of Martin O'Neill's side who beat Middlesbrough in a replay to win the League Cup in 1997.

Swedish defender Kamark, 52, was deployed to man-mark Boro's brilliant Brazilian Juninho in a screening role.

Kamark now thinks Wilfred Ndidi is excellent at performing a similar anchoring role in midfield.

But he insists Brendan Rodgers' side are capable of going toe to toe with Chelsea after claiming they are better than the Foxes' 2016 title-winning side.

Kamark, a respected TV pundit in Sweden, said: “Sport it is about winning and football is about tactics.

“I think that was a really good move from Martin O'Neill because we needed an extra eye on Juninho for sure.

“For this Leicester side Ndidi has done a tremendous job in the midfield.

“He will be a key player in that position to protect the central defenders.

“Ndidi is very talented and his work-rate and capacity is really amazing - he is like a big spider.

“I think this team is better than the 2016 winners.

“Then they were underdogs for real.

“Previously they needed a good run and everybody was playing and everything working.

“They now have a chance to win the final by out-playing Chelsea.

“I think Leicester have done really well in recruiting players.

“Maybe it is 60-40 to Chelsea or less. To bring that to a Cup final, they have a chance.”
