Former Leicester midfielder reveals Manchester United star helped decide transfer future

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes helped advise Adrien Silva on his exit from Leicester in the summer transfer window.

Silva only joined The Foxes two years ago but left to join Sampdoria on a permanent deal this summer after two loan spells away with AS Monaco.

Hopes had been high for Silva when he joined from Sporting Lisbon in 2018 but he never managed to establish himself as a key player at the King Power Stadium.

Silva played alongside compatriot Fernandes during his time in Portugal but failed to have the same impact on the Premier League as his close friend has since moving to Old Trafford in January.

In order to revitalise his career Silva searched for a move in the summer and he has revealed how former Sampdoria midfielder Fernandes helped persuade him to make the switch to Serie A.

“I talked to Bruno Fernandes when the offer from Sampdoria arrived and I asked him some questions, very important aspects when it comes to making such a decision, and he only said good things to me, he helped me a lot in making this choice,” Silva told TuttoMercatoWeb.

“I chose Sampdoria because it is a club with a great history. Made up of great players who have passed through here, but also for the interest that the club and the coach have shown in me. It was very important for me. Seeing this desire to have me was decisive. Seeing so many efforts to get me made me feel important."
