Former Leeds United target Matej Vydra makes major transfer decision

Former Leeds United transfer target Matej Vyrda has asked to leave Burnley this window, according to LancsLive.

The Whites are in the market for a new attacker with Kemar Roofe set to join Vincent Kompany’s Anderlecht in a £7m deal next week.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell joined the Clarets on Friday which means Marcelo Bielsa also needs to add a new goalkeeper to his squad.

It promises to be a busy end to the transfer window for Victor Orta and his recruitment team, with fans also crying out for a new centre-back to arrive in West Yorkshire.

Vydra, who was heavily linked with a move last summer, is said to want out of Turf Moore after falling down the pecking order.

The 27-year-old made only three Premier League start last season and the arrival of Jay Rodriguez from West Brom is only going to limit his playing time further.

As a result, the 2017/18 Championship top scorer is looking to move on, with a number of clubs in England and abroad interested in a deal.

Vydra is keen to move away permanently, although a lot of interest from the continent is for a loan deal.

While there is sufficient interest, there have been no firm bids for Vydra, who Burnley spent £11m on 12 months ago.
