Former Leeds United defender Matt Kilgallon has claimed that he is worried about his old side's battle against relegation this season due to the fact that just five points separate the bottom nine teams with 12 games to go.
Leeds' 2-2 draw with Brighton at Elland Road saw them slip back into the bottom three after both Everton and Bournemouth picked up wins against Brentford and Liverpool respectively to leapfrog the West Yorkshire team. Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison's stunning goals meant that Javi Gracia's side at least came away with something to show from their efforts on Saturday afternoon, yet it still was not enough to keep the Whites out of the relegation zone.
Although being sat in 19th place with just 12 games to go would normally make for grim reading - and arguably still does - this season has seen nine teams bunched together at the foot of the table to ensure that Leeds are just four points off Crystal Palace in 12th.

And Kilgallon has now highlighted this very fact as cause for concern as he shared his worries that sides such as Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest have not fallen behind the rest of the teams following their promotion from the Championship last term.
"It is unbelievably tight and it is full of teams that have got really good squads," Kilgallon told BBC Radio Leeds. “That is what is a little bit worrying.
"You look around at West Ham, Everton and you look at their squads, full of international players. Where’s that couple of clubs that come from the Championship that are usually gone by now? That is what is a little bit scary.”
