Former Leeds United star Lee Bowyer has opened up on his big Liverpool regret.
Six years into his seven-year stint at Elland Road, the now Charlton Athletic boss had the chance to move to Anfield.
But he turned down the deal, going on to join West Ham United around a year later.
That move to the Hammers move may have taken him back to his home City, but Bowyer still regrets the decision not to join Liverpool.
"That still hurts," he said on Sky Sports' Football Show.
"The Liverpool thing, I was there, I was in the middle of a medical, halfway through.
"This is the one thing I regret in football was not going to Liverpool, when I look back now.
"I was halfway through the medical and I thought 'right, I've been up North with nearly seven years with Leeds' and Liverpool obviously wanted to sign me and for five years.
"And I was thinking 'This is even further than where I am from' and I was thinking 'do I want to live even further away from home?'.

"Then you hear rumours behind the scenes of it being strict and you can't even talk in the warm-up. You can't do this and you can't do that.
"And I was thinking to myself 'do I want to go there?'"
"In the end, something just didn't sit right with me and I just thought it wasn't the right place to be for me."
Bowyer says he still regrets that decision, even if he had his reasons at the time.
"If I could reverse the clock then I would one million per cent have made that move because you were a very good side and I would have suited the way you played," he added.
"I think I would have fitted in well and it disappoints me. Looking back now, I should have made that move but you make decisions and that's what makes you the person you are."
