Former Leeds United star hammers referee decision and Whites' player for error in Brentford first half

Former Leeds United star Tony Dorigo has heavily criticised a key refereeing decision during the clash at Brentford and a Whites' player for a crucial mistake.

Dorigo was in the studio at half-time analysing Leeds' crucial encounter in the capital and two moments stood out and were discussed in detail.

The first was a clear penalty shout turned down when Patrick Bamford utilised quick footwork to move the ball past Julian Jeanvier, only for the defender to bring Bamford down.

Dorigo said the penalty should have been given and insisted that the referee had a great view.

"It's a penalty all day long. I cannot believe the referee didn't see Julian Jeanvier taking Patrick Bamford down," Dorigo told Sky Sports.

"The referee is looking straight down the barrel of the decision. It's a really poor mistake."

That decision came with the game still tied at 0-0 before Brentford struck on the break with Neal Maupay providing a tidy finish as he escaped the Leeds' defence, leaving Dorigo particularly critical of Pontus Jansson

'An absolute scandal' Leeds United fans furious with decision against Brentford

"There was a lack of concentration for the goal. Pontus Hansson picks up Maupay initially but then just lets him run past him," Dorigo added.

"After that, it's a really good finish. (Kiko) Casilla was in no man's land but as a centre back you have to know where your man is. That's a big mistake."
