Former Leeds United star Chris Kamara launches new show with former Sky Sports colleague

Chris Kamara has confirmed that he and Ben Shephard will be releasing a BBC Sounds podcast named ‘Unbelievable’ later this year. The former Leeds United midfielder announced that he would leave Sky Sports last month but has already taken his next step in the football media world.

Named after his iconic catchphrase that was often uttered on Soccer Saturday, he and his former Goals on Sunday co-host will host ‘top guests’ in the BBC’s new football podcast. It comes after Peter Crouch’s extremely successful podcast moved away from the BBC for its brand-new series that started a few weeks ago.

Kamara announced that, after developing apraxia of the speech, his work in the media might have to take a backseat. However, along with his appearances on new ITV celebrity show ‘The Games’, it seems he feels as though he is ready to get back to what he loves.

“This is a dream transfer and I can’t wait to tell you more about my new BBC podcast later this summer,' he told the Daily Mail. “Expect top guests, unbelievable stories and plenty of laughs as Ben and I delve into the footballing world.”

The podcast will be a reunion for Kamara and Shepard, following their time together on Sky Sports' Goals on Sunday. Further details regarding the release date of the first episode of the podcast are yet to be announced but the relevant information will certainly be posted to Kamara’s Twitter account in due course. Leeds fans may want to keep an eye – and an ear – out for the podcast as Kamara is likely to touch on his time at Elland Road in the early 90s.
