Former Leeds United striker Robbie Fowler has told of his ambitions to one day manage in the Premier League.
Fowler was appointed as manager of the struggling Australian A-League side Brisbane Roar in April, and has led the club away from relegation trouble and towards a play-off place.
Along with his assistant, former Everton player Tony Grant, Fowler told Sky Sports he believes his current role can be the launchpad to a managerial career in England’s top flight: "’I want to manage in the Premier League and I want Tony to come with me as part of my team.
"I’ve got massive aspirations of getting where I believe I will get to. I’m going to do everything I can to get there.
"It starts here, it really does. We know there’s a big world out there, there’s lots of opportunities and we’re ready to take them."
Fowler was previously a player-coach at the Thai club Muangthong United, and admitted that he faced a lot of backlash during his time in Australia due to being a foreign coach.
"It’s been tough because of where we were last year and maybe the expectation levels, certainly over here because we’re British.
"We get the impression that there’s an anti-British feeling over here, but it drives us on that little bit more to be more successful, because we want to go further."
