Former Leeds United boss provides insight and advice into behind closed doors matches

Former Leeds United boss Uwe Rosler has issued an insight into the challenges of playing matches behind closed doors, with away sides benefitting in this situation.

Germany's Bundesliga has now seen three matchweeks pass without incident but an eye-catching factor has been the lack of victories secured by the home teams.

In the first weekend of the Bundesliga returning, there was only one home win, followed by just two in the second and third round of matches.

That suggests that any advantage of playing matches at home is wiped away by matches being staged behind closed doors and Uwe Rosler has provided insight.

Rosler is leading Fortuna Dusseldorf in their battle to avoid relegation from the top-tier of German football, with the top-flight strugglers drawing two and winning one of their three matches since returning.

"For the teams at the bottom half of the table, a lot of those teams are driving on the emotions, they're driving on spirit, they're driving on the support of the crowds and that is missing," he told TalkSport.

"Emotion levels are not 100%. Of course, you find it hard to win games. You know how hard it is to win games in the Premier League and it's the same here, it's very, very difficult.

"At the moment, I can definitely see a pattern in the way that teams play with more freedom and, obviously, they are picking up more points than the home teams."
