Former Kilmarnock striker Mark Roberts, 44, on the move again as he signs for new club

Mark Roberts has signed on as a player again – despite being the ripe old age of 44.

The former Kilmarnock and Ayr United striker has joined West Region Premiership side Hurlford United, which is where he was before taking the manager's gig at SPFL League Two Queen's Park.

And now he is digging out the boots again to help Darren Henderson's side, who also have veteran Colin McMenamin up front turning 39 next week, push for a West of Scotland and Junior Cup double.

Hurlford announced the news on their Twitter, saying: "The 'Ford are delighted to announce that Mark Roberts has signed until the end of the season.

"Marco was in the 2018 West of Scotland Cup winning squad and only left to take up a coaching role at Queen's Park, where he was the head coach until recently.

"Welcome back to Blair Park Marco!"
