Former Kilmarnock chairman leads tributes to ex club doctor Masood Zaidi

Former Kilmarnock club doctor Masood Zaidi has died, and tributes have been flooding in for him.

A club statement said: "All at Kilmarnock Football Club were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our former club doctor Masood Zaidi.

"Dr Zaidi was a well-loved figure at Rugby Park, serving the club for well over a decade as well as working as the head consultant in A+E at Crosshouse Hospital.

"One such example of Dr Zaidi's kindness came during the club's trip to Bosnia to take on FK Zeljeznicar.

"Ahead of the tie, he gave up his own time to help out at a local hospital and treat patients.

"Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time."

And ex-chairman Ronnie Hamilton told the club's website: " "Dr Zaidi was such a kind and humble man and I feel honoured to have called him a friend for so many years.

"He made an invaluable contribution to Kilmarnock Football Club and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him."
