Former Supreme Court vice-president Wirach Chinvinitkul has been dismissed from the Privy Council, reducing the number of the councillors to 13.
The dismissal order, dated Friday, was published in the Royal Gazette yesterday.
It follows the King's command in line with Section 11 and 14 of the constitution.
The command was counter-signed by Privy Council president Prem Tinsulanonda.
The Royal Gazette did not provide an explanation for Mr Wirach's dismissal.
Mr Wirach, 64, was appointed as a member of the Privy Council on Dec 13, 2016.

Mr Wirach graduated with a Bachelor's degree in law from Thammasat University and obtained a barrister-at-law certificate. He served as a judge at the Phuket Provincial Court and Thonburi Kweng Court between 1981 and 1989.
He became a judge in the Supreme Court and later served as deputy chief justice at the Office of the Chief Justice Region IX in 1998.
Mr Wirach was appointed as the secretary of the Supreme Court in 2005. He was promoted to vice-president of the Supreme Court in 2015. After His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun ascended to the throne on Dec 1, 2016, he reappointed Gen Prem as the Privy Council president a day later.
The King appointed 10 members of the Privy Council; seven of them served on the council under the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej; and three were new appointees.
Those who were back on the council were Gen Surayud Chulanont, Kasem Watanachai, Palakorn Suwanrath, Atthaniti Disatha-amnarj, Supachai Poo-ngam, Chanchai Likhitjitta and ACM Chalit Pukbhasuk. There used to be 16 members in the previous council.
The new appointees were Gen Dapong Ratanasuwan, Gen Paiboon Koomchaya and Gen Teerachai Nakwanich.
On Dec 13, Mr Wirach and Mr Charunthada were named privy councillors.
On Dec 23, former assistant army chief Kampanat Ruddit was appointed as a member the Privy Council.
