Former Jets wide receiver Demaryius Thomas has died. He was 33.
No cause of death is known.
A first-round pick out of Georgia Tech by the Denver Broncos in 2010, Thomas spent parts of nine seasons with the AFC West team. In 2012, he scored a walk-off touchdown in a first-round playoff game at Mile High Stadium against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Thomas was also a part of the Denver team that defeated the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.
During the 2018 season, he was traded to the Houston Texans. In 2019, he signed with the New England Patriots twice before he was traded to the New York Jets. He scored once while with Gang Green, a TD pass from Sam Darnold in a Week 14 win over the Miami Dolphins.
He went unsigned during the 2020 season and announced his retirement in July 2021.
Thomas finished his career with 724 catches, 9763 yards and 63 touchdowns in 143 games.
