JAMMU: In its continuation to action against criminals/absconders, Kishtwar Police in yet another success apprehended another absconder and ex-terrorist associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
Bashir Ahmed was evading arrest for the last 20 years. Kishtwar Police have arrested a fourth ex-terrorist turned absconder since July 6.
Police spokesperson said, "On a specific information received through reliable sources about the hideout of the absconding ex-terrorist, a special police team of Police Station Mawah (Kishtwar) was constituted."
"The team led by SHO Marwah inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday under the supervission of SDPO Marwah Nisar Ahmed Khoja raided the suspected locations and arrested the absconding former terrorist."
"The absconder and an ex-terrorist affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) arrested today has been identified namely Bashir Ahmed @Jaffar Khan son of Mohd Shaban a resident of Nowgam Marwah Kishtwar who was absconding for last 20 yrs was wanted in a case FIR No 42/2001 u/s 302,364/ 120B/RPC 7/27 IA Act registered at Police Station Marwah". police spokesperson added.
Police said, "Later the arrested absconder was produced before the court in Kishtwar and accordingly on the orders of the court the accused has been sent to judicial custody."
On September 17, Kishtwar police arrested an ex-terrorist Abdul Gani @ Mavia son of Abdul Aziz Sheikh a resident of Rar Marwah Kishtwar who had been absconding for the past 20 years from Marwah of Kishtwar district.
On September 15, Nazir Ahmad of Budhar-Bonjwah also an ex-terrorist was arrested after a long hunt of 12 years
Prior to this on July 6, 2021, KIshtwar Police also had arrested Naeem Ahmed resident of Tattani Kishtwar who was absconding for last 13 years.
