Former Jaguars WR Donte Moncrief to sign with Steelers

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Donte Moncrief will be signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers for two years, though the contract details are still getting worked out.

Moncrief started his career with the Indianapolis Colts after being drafted out of Ole Miss in the third-round of the 2014 NFL Draft (No. 90 overall). He eventually found himself with the Jags after signing with them last offseason to sure up their receiving corps.

In 14 games started with the franchise, Moncrief recorded 48 catches for a total of 668 yards and three touchdowns, nearly doubling his production levels from 2017.

Pittsburgh’s cost-efficient addition of Moncrief helps the team fill a hole left by the departure of Antonio Brown in a trade to the Oakland Raiders. The Steelers still have JuJu Smith-Schuster, too, but lack another proven wide receiver to help distribute targets.
