Former Jaguars’ RB T.J. Yeldon to sign a 2-year deal with Bills

After a relatively quiet offseason, one of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ top free agents T.J. Yeldon has finally found a new team. That team is the Buffalo Bills, who brought the veteran in for a visit last week.

Yeldon, 25, was drafted by the Jags in the second-round (No. 36 overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft and spent five years with the team. Over that span, he managed to accumulate a total of 1,872 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns, while also racking up 1,302 receiving yards for six touchdowns through the air. In 2018, he was solid for the Jags as a receiver as he was able to bring in 55 catches for 487 yards (fourth on the team) and four receiving touchdowns (second on the team).

Yeldon was a player many Jags fans had hoped would return, however, he ended his time with the team on bad terms as Tom Coughlin criticized him for his disinterest in their season finale. Now, he’ll get a fresh start with Buffalo and could one day become their No. 1 rusher as they are aging at the position.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the deal Yeldon signed is a two-year contract, however, the terms haven’t been disclosed. While with the Bills, he’ll join LeSean McCoy and Frank Gore in the backfield, and hopefully, will provide a solid pass catcher out the backfield for their young signal-caller in Josh Allen.
