Former Jags OT Ereck Flowers visited the Redskins Sunday night

Former Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Ereck Flowers could be heading back to the NFC East, but it appears it won’t be with the New York Giants. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the veteran left tackle visited the Washington Redskins Sunday night in hopes to sign a new contract.

Flowers, 24, spent a majority of his career with the New York Giants after being drafted by them in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft (No. 9 overall). While there he started in 51 games between both tackle positions and started in seven more after he was release in 2018 and picked up by the Jags.

Personally, Flowers was a player who I thought would make for a solid backup swing tackle for the Jags after having a decent run with the team and finishing the season with a grade of 65.1, per Pro Football Focus. However, there hasn’t been any know, contact with the veteran.

As for the Redskins, they could use a solid backup, too, for their offensive line after losing Ty Nsekhe to the Buffalo Bills. Additionally, his familiarity with the division should make him feel right at home as he attempts to revitalize his career after a rough start.
