Former Jags DE Ryan Davis (neck) doing OK after being carted away from Apollos game

Jacksonville Jaguars fans got a bit of a scare during Sunday night’s Alliance of American Football game between the Orlando Apollos and San Antonio Commanders as former defensive end Ryan Davis was carted off the field with an apparent neck injury. Late Sunday night, his agent gave fans an update stating that the veteran was “ok” and was able to make the trip back to Orlando on the team’s plane.

The injury occurred after Davis collided with his teammate Earl Okine late in the second quarter of Sunday’s game while trying to sack Commanders quarterback Logan Woodside. Davis’ head connected with Okine’s chest area, which sent him to the turf where the trainers then began to attend to him. The Apollo’s reporter, Tom Alexander, also reported that Okine came up wobbly too, but his situation didn’t appear to be a severe as Davis’.

As always, we would like to wish Davis a speedy recovery alongside Jags Nation and are happy to hear he’s doing well.
