Former Irvine Meadow defender Darren Miller has signed for Troon - almost six months after announcing his retirment from football.
The 31-year-old centre-half decided to hang up his boots shortly before Christmas in a move that took Medda fans by surprise.
Meadow boss Colin Spence said at the time Miller's decision was down to a culmination of factors, including losing his starting place in the team and work commitments.
But the hugely experienced stopper has now decided to rejuvenate his career a short distance down the coast at Portland Park.
Announcing his arrival this evening, Troon said in a statement: "With James McGowan signing permanently for Albion Rovers after a hugely successful loan period, Darren’s experience is the ideal addition to our miserly back line which performed so well last season, and gave our team the perfect platform to build upon.
"We would like to put on record our thanks to Lyn McFarlane at Irvine Meadow XI for releasing Darren from his contract early to permit him to take part in our pre-season properly, much appreciated.
