Former Ireland soccer star Richie Sadlier has married girlfriend Laura Ward.
The happy couple said “I do” in front of close family and friends over the weekend.
Sharing a picture from the big day, the RTE sports pundit, 40, simply said “Husband and wife” as he posed alongside his bride ahead of the reception, RSVP Live reports.
The newlyweds have wasted no time in taking their first trip as a married couple. They arrived at the exclusive Cliff House Hotel in Waterford for a “mini-moon” break.
Richie is best-known for his punditry work on the national broadcaster where he regularly appears as an analyst for major soccer competitions.
The Dubliner enjoyed a stellar career until an injury forced him into early retirement at the age of 24. His only cap at senior level came against Russia in 2002.
However, Richie did represent his country at the 1997 UEFA European Under-18 Championship where he famously scored in the third-place play-off against Spain.
The goal has since become an viral internet sensation thanks to RTE graphics.
