Former Indian restaurant and pub on London Road is reduced to a pile of rubble

Work has taken place to demolish a former pub on London Road which used to be hit with football supporters.

Pictures have captured the former Globe pub being torn down.

The establishment used to be a meeting place for the Nottingham branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), before it became an Indian restaurant called Jewel, which also closed.

Speaking about the Globe last month, CAMRA branch secretary Andrew Ludlow said it was a popular pub frequented by Nottingham Forest and Notts County supporters.

"It did have a very impressive reputation for its range of real ales," he said.

"It was certainly one of the places that people headed to sample a range of interesting and, often, quite unusual beers.

"It was always my final port of call before heading off to Meadow Lane."

He added: "We used to have our branch meetings there.

"That was just a place that proved hugely popular because they had a big function room upstairs."
