Former Holyhead Magistrates Court with hotel conversion planning permission is up for sale

A former magistrates court – with planning permission for an apartment hotel - has been put up for sale.

The courtrooms in Holyhead were closed by the Ministry of Justice at the end of 2016 and later sold by the Government for £112,500.

Holyhead Lions Gate Ltd secured planning permission in 2018 to create 10 serviced holiday apartment rooms and a retail unit - potentially providing a boost for tourism in the centre of the town.

At the time the developer's agent said they were keen to move on with the project as "soon as possible".

But the site - which dates back to the 1800s - has now been put on the market again with estate agent Dafydd Hardy.

It is up for sale for £200,000.

Dafydd Hardy describe it as a substantial landmark character property which is an excellent investment opportunity.
