Former Hibernian youth boss John Park has joined Polish giants Legia Warsaw as head of international recruitment.
The ex-coach was brought to Easter Road by Alex McLeish in 1998 when the former Motherwell boss arrived as Hibs manager.
In a nine-year spell working with the men in green and white, Park was credited with nurturing the talent of the Hibees' 'golden generation' including the likes of Scott Brown, Steven Fletcher, Garry O'Connor and Steven Whittaker who burst onto the first team scene in the early-mid 2000's.
He departed for Celtic in 2007 where, as a scout, he was instrumental in bringing Virgil Van Dijk to the Parkhead club.
Park departed Glasgow in 2016 and later took on consultancy roles with Israeli side Maccabi Haifa and Vancouver Whitecaps.
But he says he is now looking forward to the new challenge of restoring the Ekstraklasa outfit to the Champions League for the first time since the 2016/17 season.
He told the club's website: “I’ve had many discussions with the president and the club’s coaching staff and, having spoken to them, it was an easy decision to join. I know that the club and all the people working there have high expectations and ambitions.
“The obvious goal beyond winning the national trophies is to qualify for the group stage of the European competitions and I hope that with my knowledge and previous experience in this field, I will be able to contribute to that.
“I have been looking for a suitable project for several months and I’d been doing various advisory roles in the meantime, until I decided it was the right time to work for one club.”
