Former Hibs striker Colin Nish lands Lowland League manager gig with Tranent Juniors

Former Hibs striker Colin Nish has been appointed manager of Lowland League outfit Tranent Juniors.

The former Easter Road star takes over the reigns at the fifth tier club after their promotion last season following a play-off win over West of Scotland Football League champions Darvel. Last season the club won the top flight of the East of Scotland Football League to earn their shot at promotion and they created a historic moment in doing so.

Things are going well on the park this season with the league new boys sitting seventh in the standings after seven matches. They've picked up four wins, two draws and one defeat since promotion as they mix it with the likes of East Kilbride, The Spartans and the B sides of Celtic, Rangers and Hearts.

A club statement online read: "Colin Nish has been appointed the new Manager at the club. He will be joined by his assistant Steven Hyslop, coach Eck Christie and goalie coach Mark Beveridge.

"We would like to thank both Paul and Fergus for their efforts over the past 18 months, and especially over the past week."
