Former Hibs chief Leeann Dempster all but confirms next move after latest hint

Leeann Dempster has dropped the latest hint she is about to join Queen's Park after leaving Hibernian.

The former Easter Road chief executive announced her exit earlier in the week after six years at the club.

It was reported that a move to ambitious League Two side Queen’s could be a possibility, but she kept fans guessing in her farewell message, referencing an "exciting challenge" that was on the horizon.

However, it seems her next destination is all but confirmed as she was spotted at Hampden watching the Scottish Cup clash between the Spiders and Queen of the South.

The Doonhamers knocked Queen's Park out of the competition with a comfortable 3-0 victory at the National Stadium.

Dempster admitted she wasn’t a Hibs fan when she arrived but is certainly leaving one as the Hibees ended their 114-year-long Scottish Cup drought, won promotion back to the Scottish Premiership and qualified for Europe, under her stewardship.

She said: "I didn’t arrive a Hibs fan but it was a challenge I wanted to get stuck into.

"To restore the club to where it should be.

“Surrounded by some wonderful people, on and off the pitch, I’m proud of what was achieved and the foundations that have been laid to push on.

“Thank you for all the kind messages. I’m glad we managed to put a few smiles on faces along the way. It has been a privilege - from that day in May 2016, some European adventures and promotion to getting a legend like Pat Stanton back in an official capacity.

“No matter where I go, the club will mean so much to me. It really got under my skin and I wish the staff and players all the best going forward. There are too many individuals to mention who deserve my thanks. They know who they are. GGTTH.”
