WATCH: Former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko safe after yacht fire

Former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and his friends and family members were rescued safely after the yacht they were on caught fire.

At about 2 a.m. Monday morning off the coast of Spain, the boat that 43-year-old and the group he was vacationing with caught fire. The yacht’s crew managed to extinguish the flames before maritime rescue arrived, but there was still smoke visible coming from the engine room as the yacht was towed to port, so the group was evacuated.

Klitschko shared video of the rescue situation on Twitter Tuesday morning, showing the fire extinguishing foam that covered the yacht and adding this note: “Be careful what you wish for: fate took my wish for ‘some adrenaline’ a bit too literally and our boat-trip Sunday night ended up in our boat #igniting and family & friends being evacuated by coast guard and fire rescue-team. No worries: we are all fine!”
