Former Hearts WAG 'caught romping in car with senior cop in park-and-ride'

A woman who is said to have been caught romping in a car with a married police officer is a well-known Edinburgh football WAG.

Chief Superintendent Gareth Blair was allegedly found by colleagues engaged in sexual activity with the woman, who we aren’t naming, at a park-and-ride facility in the city last week.

Her husband is a prominent Edinburgh footballer who has played for Hearts and other clubs in Scotland.

It’s understood the woman, who is 40, met Blair at a gym.

Blair, who has been suspended pending an investigation, was arrested after officers responded to complaints from the public.

A police source said: “Her name is being freely spoken about in stations and people are wondering if she’s going to be charged.”

Blair, 48, took up his post as Commander of Edinburgh Division in June.

The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner said: “We are investigating allegations of potential criminality against an officer and it would be inappropriate to comment further.”

Yesterday we revealed officers are probing sex offence allegations against dozens of their own colleagues, with serving cops at the centre of 36 “live investigations”.
