Former Hearts striker Christian Nade links up with ex-teammate at West of Scotland League side

Former Hearts striker Christian Nade has joined up with ex-teammate Ryan Stevenson at West of Scotland Football League side Troon for the second time.

The 35-year-old departed Portland Park in January last year to join Annan Athletic, scoring seven times in an 18-month spell for the Galabankies.

Nade made 93 appearances for the Jambos, scoring ten times in a four-year spell after joining from Sheffield United in 2007.

He scored the winning goal for The Blades against Arsenal in December 2006 and later represented Dundee, Raith Rovers, Dumbarton, Hamilton Academical and Stranraer in a nomadic lower league career.

Nade scored 14 times in 30 games for Troon in his first spell in 2018.

A statement on the Troon FC website read: "With the exciting move to the new West of Scotland Football League set-up, Christian is returning to add some class to our front line.

"With his former Hearts team-mate Ryan Stevenson, Dean Fulton, and Ryan Nisbet already signed up for next season, we are confident that gives us one of the best forward lines in the league."
