Former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in panel for party’s 75th Independence Day celebrations

CHANDIGARH: A week after lunch diplomacy, former Haryana chief minister and now leader of opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has been given a major responsibility by the Congress high command.

Hooda is among 11 leaders of a committee constituted by the party for its 75th Independence Day celebrations. With former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh as chairman, the committee has Mukul Wasnik as its convenor. Among others, it includes former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar and senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad.

Hooda had hosted lunch of all former and current MLAs, MPs and senior Congress leaders of the state last week.
