Former Hart's head chef lands new job at Nottingham's 'best kept culinary secret' above the Cod's Scallops

Former Hart's head chef Dan Burridge is back in the kitchen - and this time diners can watch him in action.

Dan, who was at Hart's for more than eight years until the fine dining restaurant downsized in March, is now running the kitchen at Top Floor Development.

Dubbed Nottingham's best kept culinary secret, the concept blurs the line between kitchen and dining table at an unexpected location - above the Cod's Scallops fish and chip restaurant and takeaway in Carrington.

In a warehouse-style private dining room, diners sit around a grand zinc-topped banqueting table, just feet away from the open kitchen.

Not only can diners see the chefs in action, they can get involved, having a nosey around the open kitchen or grabbing an apron to join in the cooking.

Dan's first menu will be a steak supper on May 3 and 4, with four courses for £49 per person including the pièce de résistance, soy-glazed fillet, rump cap and 50-day aged sirloin with duck fat chips.

Feast on Fish evenings will be held on May 10 and 11 and on dates in June, yet to be announced, he will be showcasing his skills with a summer menu.

To book telephone Top Floor Development on 0115 7080221, Tuesday to Thursday, 10am-2pm.
